Besides being a statistician and an educator, W. Edwards Deming was known as one of the most pre-eminent management gurus in modern history. In his famous book, The New Economics, Deming tells an interesting story which occurred during the height of his fame.
Reading through the introduction of The 5 Elements of Effective Thinking by Edward B. Burger and Michael Starbird, I was a little intrigued by a statement that they made.
One of my favorite Tony Robbins quotes is: “People are not lazy, they simply have impotent goals. That is, goals that do not inspire them.”
They are arguably two of the most famous speeches in American history and they both had one thing in common. The speeches may not have turned out as epically as they did, had their creators not used an amazing creativity tool called…procrastination. More specifically they both used a tool called productive procrastination!
