10 Ways to Set Yourself Up for Success
Rhymin’ Ted is back and today he shares 10 basic things you can do to set yourself up for success. Given his consistent life excellence over the years, Rick reaches out to him to pick his brain regarding the things he takes care of to give himself the best chance for success. On to the story…
Hey Rhymin’ Ted,
Let me take the liberty of speakin’ yer language as we rap,
I’ll need to keep it brief because I really need to take a crap.
The success you’ve had on the farm has been really quite impressive,
A big part of that is your bein’ a go-getter and stayin’ real aggressive.
But I also think you do stuff to set yourself up for success,
If you would share some of your secrets with our readers I think it really would impress.
I really need to run, but later I’ll try to give you a shout,
The turtle is gettin’ angry and his head is pokin’ out.
Take Care,
Rick
Howdy Rick!
I have to say I’m very flattered by yer humble request,
To share my words of wisdom, I’ll do my very best
As you say, it’s very important to take care of every basic need,
To put yerself in position to be happy, excel, and ultimately succeed.
See the 10 things I do to set myself up for success below,
Time is definitely a wastin’ – so ready, set, let’s go!
You won’t be very effective if ya aren’t gettin’ a good night’s sleep,
It’s time to turn off that cell phone and instead start countin’ sheep.
Yer energy levels will really suck if yer not eatin’ very good,
Cut out the sugar and fried foods and eat your veggies like ya know ya should.
You only have one body so workout and treat it with respect,
But see your doctor first and always make sure yer form’s correct.
Always stayin’ hydrated is somethin’ I learned from my youngest daughter,
It will give you energy and improve yer skin, so make sure to drink yer water.
It’s always important to start yer day with a grateful thought,
Instead of always wantin’ more, take a minute and be happy with what ya got.
One of Maslow’s needs is love and belongin’ – that ya cannot doubt,
So, make sure to spend some quality time with people ya care about
Listenin’ to music that puts ya in a good mood always works for me,
Don’t tell her I told ya, but my wife gets super horny when I play that song by Elton John and Kiki Dee.
Doin’ stuff for others is always the right thing to do,
But sometimes ya need to focus on number one and just take some time for you.
A farmer with body odor or hair growin’ out of his nose or ear isn’t very hot,
So, havin’ good personal hygiene shouldn’t even get a second thought.
Takin’ time for reflection is the last thing this old farmer will say,
Simply think about what went well and what didn’t at the end of yer day.
Those are my 10 ways to set yerself up for success that will hopefully make you better,
And my usual words of inspiration below are how I will conclude this letter.
When all in yer life seems lost and ya feel like you are at yer wits end,
Simply turn on your laptop and go to the blog that’s always there like a good friend.
Stop feelin’ sorry for yerself and get up off your big, fat rump,
Because it’s time to kick some ass and Prime Your Motherf’in Pump!
Use It or Lose It!
To set yourself up for success, take care of some of these 10 basics like Rhymin’ Ted suggests:
Get enough sleep to think and function properly. Naps are good for you too!

Listen to music to get you in a good mood
Take time for yourself
Practice good personal hygiene
At the end of the day reflect on what went well, what didn’t and what you can improve upon
