This is a Tool That Will Improve Your Critical Thinking

This week’s piece of advice is going to teach you a critical thinking technique that will help you make better decisions in your life.  This technique was developed by Edward de Bono, one of the world’s greatest creative thinkers.  The technique is called PMI which stands for plus, minus, interesting.

It is used to structure your thinking when trying to make a decision about a situation.

PMI allows you to explore the positive sides, the negative sides and the interesting sides of a situation before you make a decision.

It will also allow you to make a more balanced decision by considering more points of view.

Use It or Lose It:  The PMI Critical Thinking Tool Consists of 4 Steps:

(1)  First, consider the pluses of a situation.
(2)  Second, consider the minuses of a situation.
(3)  Third, consider the interesting points of a situation.
(4)  Lastly, make your decision.

When to Use It:

When you want to improve your critical thinking to make a more well-rounded decision.

What Do You Think?

Where could you use PMI in your life?  Should you buy some crotchless panties for yourself? On second thought, keep that to yourself.

Until next time, behave and as always…Prime Your Pump!

  1. This subject dovetails quite nicely with your previous posting on CAF. One might consider them as two different, but related, approaches to be used simultaneously.

“A rubber device for smacking bees that are in the house” – never heard that definition before. Was that statement in the script or ad libbed?

And yes, your presentation was quite entertaining (when in doubt, throw in some sex) and actionable (be absolutely sure of the clothing size). And no, I do not desire to buy crotchless panties for myself. A relatively easy decision! But you might be on to something here, a new marketing and merchandising campaign – crotches panties for men. Probably would do quite well in both Miami and LA.

    Until next week, Pax Vobiscum!
